Exporting Audio Files

Neutrino provides a simple yet powerful audio-converter functionality, allowing you to export any CoreAudio - native file to any other CoreAudio format, and to also extract audio tracks from many types of video files.

Note that protected audio files (m4p), such as those bought from the iTunes Store, cannot be exported or converted.

To export a track, select the Track you’d like to export, then select File → Export... (or right/ctrl-click on a track and choose Export...).

Audio Files

For audio files this will open the ‘Export Audio File’ dialog box. Enter a name for the file (without a file extension), a location to save the file to (must be an existing directory on the filesystem) then use the pop-up menus to configure the exporting/conversion options.

Neutrino will crop the current loop to it’s in and out points. You can choose whether Neutrino should render applied effects when it outputs the file. Note that choosing this option may increase render time, and it is normal for the progress bar to start over once for each rendering step. Choose a file-format, file extension and data format for the file and click Export to start the conversion.

When the progress bar finishes the export procedure is done, and the exported file will automatically be added to your Loops playlist in Neutrino so you can play it back immediately.

If the selected track is the same as the current track, the Export will apply all enabled effects using their current settings, including effects that are currently in 'Global' mode. If the selected track is different to the current track, only the saved effect settings for the selected track will be used.

QuickTime Audio Extraction

Neutrino can extract and export audio from many QuickTime video formats. Note however that some video formats interleave their audio and video information, and these formats cannot currently be extracted by Neutrino.

You can specify output format, rate, channels and other render settings in the Output Encoding Format dialog box.
